CoinDCX has conducted a cryptocurrency investigation programme for officers from the Mira-Bhayander, Vasai-Virar Police Commissionerate. The exchange designed the sessions to improve police knowledge of Virtual Digital Assets and related financial crimes.
The programme covered blockchain transactions, digital evidence, cyber fraud patterns, and cooperation between crypto exchanges and police agencies. It forms part of CoinDCX’s wider work with law enforcement authorities across India.
Officers Learn Crypto Investigation Methods
CoinDCX’s investigative, compliance, and legal teams led the specialised training programme. They explained how blockchain networks record transactions and how investigators can follow fund movements between digital wallets. Officers also studied common methods criminals use to transfer or conceal digital assets.
The sessions covered crypto-related phishing, investment fraud, ransomware and money laundering cases. Trainers shared practical investigation methods and examples from financial crime cases. They also explained how investigators can identify wallet addresses, review transaction records and preserve digital evidence during an inquiry.
CoinDCX and Police Expand Cooperation
Moreover, the programme examined how cryptocurrency exchanges can support law enforcement agencies during active investigations. Exchanges may provide relevant account and transaction information after receiving requests through approved legal procedures. Such cooperation can help officers connect blockchain activity with individuals or business accounts.
CoinDCX Co-founder Sumit Gupta said law enforcement officers protect citizens from new threats within the digital financial system. He also called for regular cooperation between the cryptocurrency industry and enforcement authorities.
“Law Enforcement Agencies are at the forefront of protecting citizens and combating emerging threats in the digital financial ecosystem. It was a privilege to engage with the dedicated team at the Mira-Bhayander, Vasai-Virar Police Commissionerate. As the ecosystem evolves, continuous collaboration and knowledge exchange between industry and enforcement agencies becomes increasingly vital.”
The exchange described the programme as part of a nationwide effort to close knowledge gaps within the VDA sector. CoinDCX plans to provide more education, technical support, and awareness programmes for police agencies handling digital financial crime.
Digital Suraksha Network Supports Cyber Safety
Meanwhile, the training follows CoinDCX’s announcement of the Digital Suraksha Network earlier this year. The company allocated ₹100 crore to the programme to support cyber safety across India. Its planned work covers consumer awareness, blockchain forensics training, and shared systems for fighting digital financial fraud.
The initiative seeks to improve coordination among cryptocurrency businesses, investigators, and other organisations involved in cybercrime prevention. It also provides technical education for officers who encounter cryptocurrency transactions during routine fraud and financial crime investigations.
Digital assets now appear in several forms of cybercrime, including fake investment platforms and phishing campaigns. Criminals may also use cryptocurrencies to receive ransomware payments or move funds across several wallets. These methods can make investigations more complex when officers lack blockchain training.
Additionally, digital asset cases require investigators to understand transaction records, wallet activity, and evidence collection procedures. Blockchain records can show the movement of funds, although officers may need support when connecting addresses to identifiable users.
CoinDCX said its work with the Mira-Bhayander, Vasai-Virar Police forms part of its national law enforcement partnership. The exchange plans further training and technical assistance as crypto-related investigation methods develop. Its stated aim is to support financial integrity and improve responses to digital fraud cases across India.
