India’s cryptocurrency market is operating under tighter anti-money-laundering controls in 2026. As of March 9, 2026, 54 Virtual Digital Asset Service Providers (VDASPs) were registered with the Financial Intelligence Unit-India, according to government data cited by industry reports. Registration brings applicable platforms within India’s PMLA reporting framework, including KYC, transaction monitoring and suspicious-transaction reporting requirements.

FIU registration, however, is not an endorsement of an exchange or guarantee against losses, hacks or operational failures. Users should separately examine custody, fees, liquidity and withdrawals.

    1. CoinDCX

CoinDCX is an FIU-registered Indian platform offering spot, futures and options trading alongside INR deposits and withdrawals. Its product range makes it relevant to both retail investors and active traders.

    2. WazirX

WazirX is among India’s established FIU-registered exchanges. Its current offering includes spot and futures trading, while its ZERO subscription advertises zero spot trading fees for Rs. 99 monthly.

    3. CoinSwitch

CoinSwitch combines simplified crypto investing with more advanced functionality through CoinSwitch PRO. Its ecosystem includes spot, futures and options markets and access to more than 400 cryptocurrencies.

    4. ZebPay

Founded in 2014, ZebPay is among India’s longest-running crypto platforms. It provides INR-supported crypto trading and additional services aimed at retail and experienced market participants. Its FIU registration makes it part of India’s AML reporting framework.

    5. Mudrex

Mudrex focuses on both direct cryptocurrency trading and portfolio-based investing. Its Coin Sets and systematic investment tools target users who prefer diversified or recurring investment strategies.

    6. Giottus

Chennai-based Giottus is an FIU-registered platform serving Indian users with spot and futures markets. Its local focus includes INR services and India-oriented compliance infrastructure.

    7. Unocoin

Unocoin, founded in 2013, is one of India’s earliest cryptocurrency companies. It offers INR-based crypto purchases and a Systematic Buying Plan for recurring investments.

    8. Delta Exchange India

Delta Exchange India primarily targets derivatives traders rather than conventional spot investors. Its platform offers INR-settled Bitcoin and Ether futures and options, including contracts with daily, weekly and monthly expiries.

    9. Pi42

Pi42 focuses on crypto derivatives and operates as an FIU-IND registered VASP. Unlike conventional exchanges centered on buying and holding crypto, its offering is primarily designed around leveraged futures and options markets.

    10. Binance

Global exchange Binance registered with FIU-IND after previously facing compliance restrictions in India. Its international platform provides spot trading, derivatives and other crypto services, although product availability depends on local rules.

    Why FIU Registration Matters

FIU-IND’s January 2026 guidelines state that VDA obligations are activity-based and apply regardless of where a provider is incorporated. Unregistered providers conducting notified activities can face action under Section 13 of the PMLA.

Enforcement remains active. On September 9, FIU-IND issued non-compliance notices to 15 offshore VDA providers and directed action to block their applications and URLs in India.

For users, FIU registration is therefore an important compliance checkpoint, not a quality ranking. Security history, asset custody, trading costs, INR access, tax treatment and withdrawal reliability should still be evaluated before selecting an exchange.
