Bitcoin and Ether prices fell on October 24 as worries about the economy and weak demand from big investors hurt the crypto market. Bitcoin traded near USD 80,685, while Ether stood close to USD 2,370. Bitcoin lost 1.2% in 24 hours, and Ether lost 1.1%. Selling is spread across most major coins.

    Most Major Coins Lose Ground

Several other coins also slipped. XRP, Solana, Hyperliquid, Dogecoin, and Cardano fell by up to 2.2%. BNB and Tron went the other way, rising 0.1% and 0.2%. The total value of all crypto fell 0.8% to USD 2.80 trillion, according to CoinMarketCap.

The weekly picture looks weak too. Bitcoin is down 0.8% over seven days, and Ether is down 1.8%. XRP, Solana, Tron, Dogecoin, Hyperliquid, and Cardano lost as much as 5.7%. BNB stood out with a 2.5% gain for the week. The market looks nervous, and few coins are showing strength.

    Fund Outflows Add Pressure

Big investors pulled money out on Thursday. US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw about USD 636 million in net outflows. Ether ETFs lost around USD 111 million. These funds let people invest in a coin without holding it, so outflows point to falling interest.

Riya Sehgal, a research analyst at Delta Exchange, said the drop came from unclear economic signals, weak fund flows, and risky trades made with borrowed money. Together, these make it hard for prices to keep their recent gains.

Nischal Shetty, founder of WazirX, called it an uneven week. Prices rose early, then fell again. Bitcoin slid from about USD 83,460 on October 22 to roughly USD 81,198 in a later check.

Traders will now watch oil prices, fund flows, and economic news. If oil stays high, fears of rising prices could grow. That may reduce hopes of lower interest rates and add more pressure on crypto. Bitcoin is still close to the USD 80,000 mark, and many traders will watch to see if it can hold that level. For now, buyers are staying careful.
