CoinDCX partnered with Tether Gold on August 27 to bring XAUT trading and tokenized gold investing to India. The crypto exchange launched an XAUT SIP starting at Rs. 100 for Indian investors. The offering aims to make blockchain-based gold exposure easier through small recurring investments on CoinDCX.
The move gives Indian investors access to Tether Gold XAUT through a domestic crypto platform with fractional exposure. Each XAUT token represents one troy ounce of physical gold held against allocated reserves. CoinDCX expects the new product to connect traditional gold demand with the growing real-world asset market.
The Rs. 100 XAUT SIP follows a model similar to mutual fund systematic investment plans. Investors can build gold exposure gradually instead of making larger upfront purchases. The structure also brings blockchain-based ownership and digital trading into a familiar investment format.
Mridul Gupta, Founding Partner at CoinDCX, said, “Indian investors have consistently demonstrated a strong affinity for gold as a long-term store of value.”
Gupta added that the partnership brings gold familiarity into the digital era while lowering entry barriers for real-world assets. The company also highlighted growing demand for tokenized assets beyond conventional cryptocurrencies.
Tether Gold issues XAUT through TG Commodities, S.A. de C.V. Each token links to one troy fine ounce of gold on a London Good Delivery bar. The allocated gold carries identifiable details, including serial number, purity, and weight.
The launch also expands CoinDCX’s focus beyond traditional crypto assets. Tokenized gold now adds a commodity-linked product to its digital asset offerings. However, Indian investors still face crypto taxation and regulatory considerations when using such products.
