XRP price rose 2.88% to USD 1.31 in 24 hours as the broader cryptocurrency market recovered following the U.S. midterm elections, while large XRP wallets reached their highest count of 2026.
Blockchain analytics firm Santiment reported that 2,147 wallets now hold at least 1 million XRP. The increase comes alongside renewed trading activity, while the XRP Ledger has activated a software update addressing a previously disclosed token issuance flaw.
XRP price gains as crypto market rebounds
XRP’s recovery followed a 3.14% increase in the total cryptocurrency market capitalization, with Bitcoin gaining 3.61%. U.S. stocks also advanced on November 4 after the midterm elections. The S&P 500 rose 1.6%, reflecting stronger demand for risk assets.
Meanwhile, XRP derivatives activity increased as traders opened more futures positions. A November 4 market snapshot showed open interest rising 4.56% to USD 440.9 million. Positive funding rates indicated that traders holding long positions were paying those holding short positions.
However, the recovery has not confirmed a sustained trend reversal. XRP faces immediate resistance around USD 1.32, followed by USD 1.36. Holding the 1.27–1.30 support range could allow another recovery attempt, while a break below USD 1.27 would expose the USD 1.20 level.
XRP whale wallets reach highest count of 2026
Santiment recorded 28 additional wallets holding at least 1 million XRP over 10 days. Of those, 18 joined the group within the final three days. The increase occurred while XRP experienced selling pressure during late October and early November.
The analytics firm described the development as “encouraging,” although rising wallet numbers do not necessarily prove fresh purchases. Existing holders can distribute their tokens across multiple addresses, increasing wallet counts without adding new investment.
The latest figures follow previous XRP whale accumulation data, which showed large addresses holding 46.87 billion tokens in October. Separately, XRP network activity increased on November 1, when Santiment recorded 7,934 newly created wallets.
Nevertheless, wallet growth alone cannot establish whether XRP’s price recovery will continue. Trading volume and sustained buying demand remain separate measures of market activity.
XRP Ledger activates fix as RLUSD adoption grows
The XRP Ledger confirmed the activation of its fixCleanup3_4_0 amendment on November 4 at 14:52 UTC. The update prevents accounts authorized only to destroy issued tokens from creating new tokens under certain conditions. No exploitation has been publicly confirmed.
The correction followed two weeks of validator approval after an interrupted October voting period. As previously reported, the flaw affected issued assets, including stablecoins, rather than XRP itself. The update also addresses transaction signing and accounting errors involving planned lending features.
Separately, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse rejected suggestions that the company’s RLUSD stablecoin competes with XRP.
“RLUSD isn’t competing with XRP. It’s competing with other stablecoins,” Garlinghouse stated on November 3.
Ripple’s reserve disclosures show that RLUSD circulation reached USD 2.627 billion, backed by USD 2.759 billion in reserves as of October 29. However, growing RLUSD adoption does not necessarily translate into equivalent XRP purchases because the assets serve different purposes, and RLUSD also operates on Ethereum.
