Visa has teamed up with crypto payments firm Mesh. The deal lets people spend crypto and stablecoins straight from their digital wallets at more than 175 million shops worldwide. The two firms announced it on October 19, 2026. The goal is simple: no more crypto cards, and no more moving money to a bank before you pay.

How Visa and Mesh Will Enable Card-Free Crypto Payments

Eligible wallets will link to Visa’s payment network, which covers more than 200 countries and territories. Users will be able to shop online and pay in stores.

Mesh will handle the funding and currency conversion behind the scenes. A Visa payment credential will run in the background, so users won’t have to sell their coins first. They also won’t need to send money to a bank account.

Shops will not need to change anything. They will get paid the usual way and can keep their current checkout systems and machines. Mesh will also run sign-ups and identity checks, known as KYC. That could help wallets, exchanges, and finance apps offer payments without building their own card programs.

What the Partnership Means for Crypto Payments

Visa handled USD 14.2 trillion in payments in fiscal 2025. Mesh’s announcement also says around 774 million people worldwide owned crypto by June 2026.

For crypto holders, this could make everyday spending easier. For wallet providers, it offers a way to compete with traditional payment services. Mesh already links wallets, exchanges, and finance platforms, and it acts as a go-between for crypto firms and the regular banking system.

Still, many details are missing. Visa and Mesh have not shared a launch date, the first wallets or exchanges to join, or the devices that will work with the service.

Launch Details and Key Questions Remain

Currently, the deal shows a path to spending crypto without a dedicated card. How useful it proves will depend on a few things: which coins and wallets are supported, what the conversion fees are, and how many platforms sign up.

Until Visa and Mesh share more, users can’t tell whether their own wallet will work. Anyone interested should watch for updates on the rollout.
